Empowering the North East Brochure
EP Lynemouth Power, the epitome of North East industry, is currently planning the next stages of the life of the power station – capturing carbon generated from its electricity production process to secure the station for many more years to come.
EP Lynemouth appointed our team to help communicate its pioneering Bioenergy with Carbon Capture & Storage (BECCS) initiative, to support with government engagement and to build on existing community and multiple stakeholder relations within the North East and wider regions.

As carbon capture and storage remains a pioneering and relatively untested technology, key messaging should focus on communicating its significant potential to reduce emissions-while most importantly building trust in EP Lynemouth Power’s ability to successfully implement and manage it.
Given EP Lynemouth Power’s significant impact on the region, any strategy developed needed broad appeal and must resonate across a diverse range of audience groups.

Following an extensive stakeholder mapping exercise, our team identified several niche opportunities to positively influence key audiences. These included EP Lynemouth’s participation in the Discovery Museum’s two-year ‘Steam to Green’ exhibition, recognition through the PwC and Newcastle University Business School–researched award as Northumberland’s No.1 Company, and the development of a 20-page brochure designed to inform politicians and stakeholders across the UK.

EP Lynemouth is now recognised as far more than just a power station. It is viewed by stakeholders and the wider regional community as a forward-thinking, entrepreneurial force within the energy sector – proudly distinguished by its strong green credentials.
